oh ruby...

It's been awhile since we've checked in. Sorry! Here's some pics Josh took last week while I was having a child-free moment. I believe it consisted of either a nap or a trip to Starbucks... one of the two.

just chillin...

Ruby gets in these oh-so-sweet moods where we'll all hang out on the bed and she'll just explore her world. Her big blue eyes just wander and she makes little coos and fun faces and moves these crazy things called arms that always seem to surprise her. We just think she's great...

Onna Donna...

So Onna Donna... my mom... came to check in on her baby and meet her baby's baby. It was precious to see my mom interact with her - and we all agree... she's the cutest and most well mannered baby! Both Ruby and I were sad to drop her off at the airport this morning. Thanks for coming, Onna!

Ruby update...

Okay... so we have some flipping to show you... (sidenote: I'm able to post today because I got 7 hours of sleep last night!! Ruby has been in the habit of only sleeping when someone is holding her which meant Josh or Audrey slept in shifts in the nursery chair holding her. We attribute this to her small size. But slowly she's been getting used to her bassinet and sleeping on her own and last night she slept there in between each feeding which means mom and dad got to sleep in their own bed together - the first time since before my water broke! Heaven...)

Here's little Ruby (at the time nameless Baby Dunlop) at the hospital. They had to stick a tube up her nose to clear out some fluid in her lungs, so her little nose was swollen and therefore when breathing, she was snorting. Our little piggie. At times it was so cute - kinda like a puppy bull dog or something - and at the same time it broke my little new mom heart because it just sounds hard and painful to breathe! But this is Ruby about 24 hours old...



And here she is now!! Well, as of Friday - she's just changing all the time!



Now I promised myself I wouldn't be one of those people that changes all their blog entries and facebook pictures and everything to their new baby, but I have to admit - I totally see why people do it! She's our world! And well, my day consists of 24 hours of Ruby, so blogging about anything else just seems like work. And that's the last thing I want to do right now... work. So enjoy. Hopefully more pics to come soon!!

I didn't even properly introduce you to our little one...

World, meet Ruby. Ruby, meet the world!

Still trying to figure out this whole no sleep, precious moments, what the heck are we doing thing, but we'll try to keep you all posted with the few moments we're able to capture with the camera. We love love love her and are constantly finding ourselves staring in awe at our little miracle.

Born today, May 4, 2010 at 5:47AM. 6 pounds, 3 ounces, 20 inches. Our little bundle of joy...

More to come... but I'll tell you this. She is so wonderful. Perfect in fact. We love her.

nursery time!

Here it is! The nursery... not exactly what we wanted, but we did what we could without painting, tearing down walls, etc, etc. Curses on rentals!! But we're so happy with it and excited for our little lady to enjoy it! Er... well, be changed and sleep in it. That's about all she'll probably do in there...

View from the door... the pom poms are from the baby shower and will serve as some lovely eye candy while she's quietly hanging out in her crib... yep. That'll happen, just you wait!

Josh made that beauty of a bookshelf... well done, sir!
